Competitor Analysis
To gather more insights, we analysed other competitors and similar products and then aligned feature into priority matrix
Analysis

I performed analysis on similar products to gain knowledge about product features, experience, pain points and business models to set a benchmark
Feature priority matrix

After the analysis, I identified features and then conducted a workshop with the stakeholder to prioritise the features for different phases of the project and categorise them into similar buckets
Infomation Architecture
With our primary and secondary research, I conducted a workshop of card sorting and created an information architecture to have a clear picture of sections & subsections within the product

Userflows & Wireframing
Continuing to define phase I created a few scenarios and created user flow for each one of them, which gave us a better understanding of key screens and users’ possible navigation within the product. Further designing wireframes using the user flows, we iterated and tweaked a few design choices with constant testing to provide users with a smooth experience

Visual Design
We chose to keep the product minimal and focus on making the interactions user friendly while using illustrations on limited areas to break the monotony
Global
Onboarding
We needed to gather user preferences to showcase content specific to their needs and make the experience more personalised

Guiding
the user to navigate
As this was a pretty new experience for the target market, we added coach marks on specific intervals to guide users in using the app

News in 5 bullet points
The USP of the product was to showcase the news in a short format, so we chose to give 5 pointers to a long article yet allow them to expand a specific point to read more about it

Multi language
support
The product supports multiple languages which came as a requirement from research thus showcased to the user as preference selection

Text to Speech
As some users drive to work and can’t read the news but still want to be updated, they can turn on this feature and listen to the news on the go. The features also highlight what is being read in this case H (Heading or 04 (point 4)

Navigate
to other sectios
Users can navigate to other sections like Topics by swiping left and then further jumping into the profile section, they can further change their preferences

Dark
Theme
I also created a dark theme to cater to user needs of consuming news for long periods which puts less strain on users’ eyes

Thank you
